Flash CMS Objects

Flash CMS elements are presented by various objects starting from simple text or an image and up to the complex modules and widgets.

Object types and properties, effects and actions. Locked Objects

There are three types of Flash CMS objects – simple objects (texts, images, SWF, shapes, videos), simple elements – animated elements (buttons, arrows, animated images) and modules (news, galleries, music and video player, forms). All three types of these objects have common properties, as well as some individual properties that are peculiar to each particular type of the objects. Each object is placed in the holder and has its own coordinates, sizes, transparency and the application mode. If the object is placed on thestage as “locked”, some of the limitations apply. You cannot move such an object: either change its size and transparency or the application mode. But you can always add the effects or actions to the “locked” object. The existence of these objects is determined by their close connection with the website animation, which is not editable. For example, if there is a 3D element on the website that turns into a button and this 3D element is a part of the website animation, then you may not move it or change its size. That’s why the button will be also locked to keep the design and the look of the entire animation. The number of such objects depends on the design and level of the website animation. In fact, some of the websites may not have such elements at all; it mainly depends on the animation.

Pin Object:
This option enables you to pin different objects to screen edges. It’s especially good for images. You can stretch them horizontally and/or vertically by checking a proper item. It’s also possible to edit an offset by changing its value manually or moving an object with your mouse. To disable this option, you should just double click it.

Effects

1. The effects can be added to objects of all types. There are currently the bevel, blur, color, glow and shadow effects. To add an effect to the object, please use a special “Effects” tab on the right panel. Please select an object on the page, click “Add Effect” and choose the type of the effect you would like to apply.

2. You can add, remove, hide, copy effects and transfer them to other objects. It's also possible to set the priority of the added effects by means of the proper buttons.

Bevel

The “Bevel” effect is a new way of creating a 3 dimension impression effect on almost any object. The parameters of this filter are: Angle - the angle of the bevel, Distance, Highlight Alpha, Highlight Color - the highlight color of the bevel, Shadow Alpha, Shadow Color; horizontal and vertical blur, quality, strength, type - determines one of three ways of applying the bevel: inner, outer and full. If you choose the knockout option, you will apply a knockout effect, which means that the fill of the object will disappear (full transparency), and you will see the background.

Blur

The “Blur” effect provides a simple way of applying a visual blur to some types of objects. Blur effect is determined by three parameters; horizontal and vertical - how much blur is applied horizontally or vertically. It's recommended to use the values equal to the powers of 2 (2, 4, 8) because the effect rendering time is shorter with the blur quality.

Color

The “Color” effect allows you to change the color of the objects displayed. Using the “Color Picker“, you may choose any color from the wide range of available colors for any object, and then choose the tint of the newly set color by means of the “Colorize“ function. The parameters that help you to customize the color effect are: Hue, Saturation, Contrast, Brightness and Alpha. You may also activate or deactivate the “Channels“ function: red, green or blue.

Glow

The “Glow” effect allows you to apply it to the objects displayed. You have several options for the style of the glow, including the inner or outer glow and the knockout mode. The parameters that help you to customize the glow effect are: color, the alpha transparency of the glow, the amount of horizontal and vertical blur, quality and spread strength of the glow. Please check the “Inner” option for the inner glow and uncheck it for the outer glow. If you check the “Knockout” option, you will apply a knockout effect to the object, that means the fill of the object will disappear (full transparency) and you will see the background.

Shadow

The “Shadow” effect give you an opportunity to add shadows to objects on the stage. You have several options of the shadow effect, including inner shadow and knockout mode. The shadow parameters are: distance - the value of the distance between the object and its shadow, measured in pixels, angle - the angle of the shadow in degrees, color - the color of the shadow, the amount of horizontal and vertical blur, punch strength of the shadow, and quality. Please check the “Inner” option for the inner shadow and uncheck it for the outer shadow. If you choose the “Knockout” option, you will apply a knockout effect that means the fill of the object will disappear (full transparency), and you will see the background. If you check the “Hide Object” option, the object will disappear and you will only see the shadow.

Actions

“Actions” may be applied to the simple objects and slots. For example, click “Select an object” on the stage and click the tab “Actions” on the right panel. Please select the “Enable Click Actions” option to activate the clicking action for the object. You may choose one of the options, the variants of the actions by clicking the object:

Go to page – You will be prompted to choose the target page to go to.

Open Pop-Up – You will be prompted to choose the target pop-up to open.

Open URL – You can specify the URL and define the variant of opening it in the same or a new window.

Open File – You can choose the file from Media Library to open.

Mail To – You can specify the e-mail address.

Full screen – Action enables or disables full screen mode.

In short, “Click Action” is a link for SEO. In case you do not want this link to be indexed, you can set it as “No follow”.

Simple Objects

Simple objects are presented by: texts, images (JPG, PNG), shapes, SWF animation and FLV or MP4 video.

Text

The "Text" tool allows you to place the text blocks on the pages. When adding the text to the page or selecting the existing text, the right panel is activated. It has additional settings for the text fields.

1. You may select the font type for the entire text or the highlighted content. The list of the fonts contain the system fonts and the fonts uploaded via the “Fonts Manager”. You can also add a new font by clicking the option “Add Font” and open a “Fonts Manager”.
screenshot_000324.png

Using the Text Editor you can change the size and the color of a font, make it bold/italic/underlined. (Note: Not every font can be changed to bold or italic). You can also change the first line and paragraph spacing, upper or lower case of the text or remove the formatting. “Authorize textfield” is one of the text object options. Once it's activated this option enlarges the text object height while adding a new text. Otherwise, the text which is too high to fit and the text object, will be cut off and won’t be displayed correctly.

The “Use system fonts” option is used for the text blocks written in system fonts (Arial, Tahoma, Times New Roman, Verdana – the fonts that are determined by default and do not require the upload) that are not to be leveled. Or the texts look fuzzy. For the non-system fonts that are uploaded through the site this function should be eliminated. Otherwise, the uploaded font won’t be displayed in the computers where it is not installed. In order this font to look clear and distinct, we use the so-called pixel fonts. You can also make the text stand out or forbid elimination. Please use the checkbox “Make selectable” for that.

2. It is possible to insert the link within the text. Highlighting of the text fragment activates the “Link” button. Click the button and open a new window with the Link Editor and choose one of the options:

3. You can define the style of the text block: normal, heading 1….6. This style does not influence with the display of the text, but is useful for SEO. The main Heading is usually defined as h1 (Heading 1), subheadings - h2 (Heading 2), etc. For plain text the “Normal” style is set by default. The effects may be applied to the text objects.
